Jeronimos Monastery

One of my all time favorite destinations to visit is Portugal. The people are not only nice but more than helpful. I don’t speak their language but have never had a problem getting around the country using my French and gestures. Their public transportation is very well set up and makes it easier to go from one place to another.  For the next few days am going to dedicate my posts to this amazing country filled with beautiful people and scenery that the pictures just don’t do justice to at all. I went to the Jeronimos Monastery along with my good friend and colleague Ana Rodriguez. We had a wonderful week-long layover in Lisbon and decided to make the most of it. One of our many destinations we visited was this Monastery. This place made me want to become a monk, an impossible feat that would require a gender change followed by complete dedication to the vows of poverty obedience and chastity. Forget that! The place isn’t far from Lisbon city center, around 25 minutes by public transportation. The day here was spent in the peace and quite and pondering over the meaning of life for the thinkers and complete visual feast for myself. You can read all about the history of this place on the internet. Click on the picture to enlarge.
